Panchayat Season 3 (2024) Review

Panchayat Season 3 (2024) Review: Phulera Village is back on Prime Video with a simple story but interesting characters. There is an atmosphere of Lok Sabha elections in the country and also of Panchayat elections in Phulera.

Disputes have divided Phulera into east and west. On one end of the political chessboard are the current Panchayat officials and on the other end are the local MLAs who want to become the Pradhan and are supporting them. Stuck in the middle is the Panchayat Secretary who wants to go away from Phulera by taking admission in IIM, but the question is whether Phulera will leave him?

Election is an election, whether it is of the country or of the Gram Panchayat, everyone fights to win and walks on the path of victory. If the way is not found, then it is made. Sometimes by providing benefits of government schemes and sometimes through controversy. Politics is in full swing in Phulera at this time. Decisions taken during the election season often get embroiled in controversies. Opponents looking for an opportunity fuel these controversies.

The third season of TVF’s series Panchayat is mainly based on the game of checkmate regarding the Pradhani election, which presents different shades of the characters through shocking events in the last episode and also confirms the fourth season.

Panchayat Season 3 (2024) Review Story:

The story of Panchayat is of Phulera village of Fakouli development block of Ballia district. Secretary Abhishek Tripathi (Jitendra Kumar) is transferred after pressure from Bahubali MLA Chandra Kishore Singh (Pankaj Jha), but the Pradhan and other associates do not allow the new secretary to join, so that Abhishek can return to Phulera. Meanwhile, the MLA is jailed in an old murder case and he loses his MLA post.

Bhushan Sharma (Durgesh Kumar), who dreams of making his wife Kranti Devi (Sunita Rajbhar) the Pradhan, takes advantage of this opportunity. After coming out on bail, he goes to the MLA with a proposal for a peace agreement. Bhushan’s politics is successful to a large extent, but then something happens that he has to face defeat.

As soon as the MLA goes to jail, Abhishek’s transfer is canceled and he reaches the village. But, with books to prepare for the MBA entrance exam. The list of beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Awas Yojana is released in the village, which gets entangled in allegations of bias.

How is the script of the third season?

The events used to increase the conflict in the story seem a bit light. The Bahubali MLA losing his MLA post after going to jail for killing and eating a dog or the MLA killing a pigeon during a peace agreement.

It starts with the arrival of the new secretary. The way the village head’s husband Brijbhushan Dubey and assistant Vikas stop him from joining, those scenes are funny. The old woman’s desire for a house under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Awas Yojana and the drama of living separately from the grandson makes you laugh as well as emotional.

The people of Phulera village buying the MLA’s horse to humiliate him. There is humor in these events, but the way all these events connect and take the series to a shocking climax seems strange. Phulera also seems to be taking inspiration from Prime Video’s popular crime series Mirzapur. The game of checkmate with the Bahubali MLA turns violent in the last episode, which does not suit the mood of the Panchayat series.

Gram Pradhan Manju Devi is no longer a puppet of her husband, she is in a decisive role and is capable of forcing her husband to accept her right decisions by pressurizing him. Secretary Abhishek Tripathi no longer has any interest in Phulera, rather he has started considering it as his own. He is ready to do anything for Phulera and the Pradhan-Mandal.

Loneliness after his son’s martyrdom has drowned Prahlad Pandey in alcohol. He even refuses to contest the elections, but when he comes to know that assistant Vikas is going to become a father, he gets a reason to live.

The biggest beauty of this season is also the graph of the characters. Along with the continuity of the characters, the subtle changes in their behavior over time are impressive. Viewers watching the show since the first season can clearly feel these small changes.

Neena Gupta in the role of village Pradhan Manju Devi, Raghubir Yadav in the role of Pradhanpati Brijbhushan Dubey, Jitendra Kumar as Panch

Through the horse track, Phulera’s ‘guest’ Ganesh i.e. Asif Khan (Gajab Beizati Hai fame) has returned. This track prepares the ground for a blockbuster climax. Ganesh’s character has also matured compared to before.
